Here is a recipe for Udang Balado that you can try:


Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 5 large red chilies, thinly sliced
  • 5 red chili peppers, thinly sliced (according to spicy taste)
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 lemongrass stalk, freshen up
  • 3 lime leaves, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Cooking oil to taste

How to cook:

  1. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté garlic, red chili, and cayenne pepper until fragrant and the chili is wilted.
  3. Add the shrimp to the pan and stir well until the shrimp turns red and cooked.
  4. Add lemongrass, lime leaves, and tomato slices. Stir well and cook for a while until the tomatoes wilt.
  5. Add oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, sugar, and salt. Stir well and cook for another minute until all the spices are evenly mixed.
  6. Correct the flavor of the shrimp balado, if necessary add salt or sugar to taste.
  7. Remove the shrimp balado from the pan and serve warm with white rice.
